Children swimming lessons
Saturday Swim Lessons
Groups of 4 children per Instructor. These lessons are designed to cater for beginner levels and have proven to be an excellent class to encourage progression in the water.
Saturdays 8.30am-4.30pm
Bubblemakers (4years)
4 children per group and runs for 30 mins. Saturdays between 8.30am - 4.30pm.
Aimed at encouraging and developing water confidence catered to their age group.
This class covers the same skills as a beginner class but it catered for the attention span of 4year olds and is centred around games and indirect learning.
Beginners (5 years+)
This class has 6 children in a group and runs for 30 mins.
(Mon, Wed, Fri classes at 4.15pm, 4.45 & 5.15pm. Tuesday classes at 6pm & 7pm)
Instructor teaches in-water until children are capable of swimming in comfort and independently.
Main focus for this level is water confidence, floating, submersion, push and glides, seated entry, jumping, correct body position, correct leg kick achieved, breathing techniques.
Improvers
This class runs for 40 mins.
(Mon, Wed, Fri classes at 5.40pm. Tuesday classes at 6pm & 7pm)
Children at this level are now developing breathing technique and bringing the full stroke together. Timing of the stroke combined with breathing skills are core to the Improver levels.
Advanced
This class runs for 40 mins.
(Mon, Wed, Fri classes at 6.20pm. Tuesday classes at 6pm & 7pm)
This is the class that bridges the Improver and Lane groups.
Technique is refined and developed allowing for longer distances with ease and comfort.
Lanes
Mondays at 6.45pm & Tuesdays at 8pm
Our Lane swim courses will introduce a variety of aquatic approaches while also keeping a keen focus on developing stroke efficiency and stamina. As children complete a few courses in lanes, its important to introduce the variety of aquatic activities to encourage their interest such as junior lifeguard, kayaking, water polo, open water swimming....
*For children aged 12/13 years plus who feel they have outgrown lane swimming and are not interested in competitive training, check out our Teen swim fitness bootcamp for a fun way to stay fit and keep their swimming skills in tune. Must be competent in Lane swimming to join this session.
