Adult Levels explained
Total Beginner level
This class is for the non-swimmer. You will be in a small group of similar people and it’s amazing to watch everybody support and encourage each other on their swim journey together.
You will learn to put together the confidence and ability to achieve floating and submerging skills and will begin to feel at home in the water.
Beginner Level
The beginner class is for adults who are comfortable in the water but cannot yet swim.
We cover submerging and floating exercises in the first week or two and quickly move to gliding exercises when comfortable. Once you achieve the correct body positions in the water, we will progress to effective leg kicks for all strokes. Frontcrawl, backcrawl, breastroke and butterfly.
It’s a fun class and laughs along the way are guaranteed!!!!
Improver level
In this class, we learn more about breathing techniques and finally add in the arm pulls to the strokes. This is where the cardio really kicks in!
Now we are working towards achieving longer distances with more skill involved in every stroke.
Advanced
This is a lane session building towards a continuous 20m swim.
Again, this is done with all strokes although by now, you will probably have a preferred stroke.
Towards the end of the year, we challenge our swimmers with distance swims, while also refining and developing technique.
Lane Swimming
By now, swimmers in the Lane group are covering greater distances while isolating elements of their stroke.
This is a really great class for fitness while also getting the essential advise on technique, continuously progressing your swim level, fitness, stamina and endurance.
Fitness Bootcamp
Not for the faint hearted!!! This is a cracker of a swim workout and it incorporates swim sets combined with aquatic exercises that uses the resistance of the water to pump muscle and tone your body. You will be stiff after this class!
Think of it as an extreme aqua fit class with swim sets in between, on saying that, a very enjoyable workout.
